About Lasha.
She originates from Flint, Michigan, currently residing in Texas. She spent most of her 22-year career in corporate working at a Fortune 500 company. She's led Communication, Training and Leadership development of an Ethics Program for 39K employees, managed a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) program for 6K employees, managed high performing teams to strategic imperatives, facilitated training and executed change management in programs such as Professional and Leadership development, Building Relationships, Culture and Diversity Business Groups.
When she was just starting out in her corporate career and developing as a leader, she faced challenges fitting in. With her big personality, colorful attire and constantly changing hairstyles, some of the other leaders didn't quite relate to her initially. She remembered feeling like she couldn't be her authentic self back then. But thankfully, the power of soft skills leadership came to her rescue through a particular leader who took her aside one day. This person pulled her aside and said something along the lines of "Listen, you might not fit the traditional mold, but that's exactly why we need you here. You belong at this table, and we're creating space for you to be yourself." Those words were so impactful for her. It gave her the confidence to lean into her unique style and perspectives as strengths rather than weaknesses. From that point on, she stopped trying to conform and instead brought her full, authentic self into her leadership role and vowed to teach other leaders how to be others, who that individual was to her, unlocking the same potential in others in the workforce.
